Studied chemistry. After working in a computing center and later in the Physics Department of the Polytechnic Institute Bucharest (Romania), in Stuttgart, at the University, and in the Max Planck Institute. Since 1993 in Paris (France) at the CNRS, in the Laboratoire de Chimie Théorique (belonging also to Sorbonne University). Emeritus since 2015
